Tonight I was reminded of a few memories that I wanted to write down.
The first one is kind of gross.. but funny (now, it wasn't then)
So back in the summer of 2012 Matt and I lived on the farm. It was such a fun summer, but anyways..
A lot of people were planning on going up to big creek by Austin to ride four wheelers, fish, and camp for the night. We were really excited cause we love that sort of thing.
(this is not the same trip by the way)
So right before we left I had made some enchiladas that we ate and then we were off. We took back roads all the way to Austin. Somewhere along the way Matt started to get carsick (or so we thought) this was weird because he really never gets carsick. We let him sit up front and walk and all sorts of things to try and help, but nothing was doing the trick.
We eventually met up with everyone else and we got out of the car cause matt was still feeling really sick. We were standing in the road talking and Matt got super white and then threw up. Right in the middle of the road, right in front of all of us. It was super gross, but mostly I just felt bad for him!
At this point we still thought it was carsickness. So we told him that he should ride a four wheeler instead of riding in a car cause that would help. So we jumped on a four wheeler and took off in front of everyone. For a while he felt better. We just kept driving and driving even though we couldn't see anyone behind us. We figured they'd catch up eventually.
We made it to the very top of the mountain and still no one was in side. On a side note it was BEAUTIFUL up there! We were on top of the world. Unfortunately Matt couldn't enjoy it. Instead he threw up again and then laid in the dirt cause he felt so rotten.
We stayed up there for a while, but still no one showed up so we decided to go back down. We drove back down and found everyone at a camp site. Luckily Luke had brought a cot. We set it up for Matt and he laid there in the hot sun with blankets on and still felt cold. Poor guy! In the mean time everyone was fishing and riding and doing all sorts of fun stuff.
He laid there the whole day just being super sick. That night we brought his cot over by the fire and he was at least able to enjoy everyone's company, he even ate a little.
We slept with Matt's cot half way in a little tent (haha) And we both slept on the cot which wasn't that big. That night the wind blew so hard! I thought we would blow away and we were only half way in our tent. The next day Matt was doing a little better, but we figured we should just go home while everyone else partied.
So the reason we remembered this story tonight was because we had enchiladas for dinner. haha To this day enchilada sauce from a can makes me feel sick, but luckily these had a homemade sauce and were super yummy. We had fun remembering how miserable that trip was. Its funny how its fun to look back and laugh even though it wasn't funny in the moment :)
Anther funny (less gross) story from that summer.
One day I was in the bathroom and I ran out of toilet paper (I'm pretty sure this is what happened) I asked Matt to get me some, which he did, and then I could here him running around in the hall. When I got out this is what I found.
hahaha the little things Matt does just crack me up.
Speaking of funny little things Matt does.. Right before we moved to the farm that year Matt and I were both sick and had been for a long time. While I was in the bathroom once again this is what I came out to.
He said that this is what sick people do to be romantic and to just think of them as rose peddles
hahaha I just love him.
And a little more recent story. As I was putting Micah to bed tonight and playing with him I remembered how one night when we were still in the hospital Matt went crazy playing with Micah. I think he was going a little crazy from being in that room for so long, but he played and played with Micah even though he was a tiny newborn.
It was so cute and funny, but then Micah would not go to sleep! Us being new parents and not knowing much didn't know you could overstimulate a baby. Well we definitely did and we learned our lesson :)
And there are my random thoughts for the night.
Sweet dreams!
Hahahaha. Love the stories!
