This weekend had a couple of firsts for Micah and for us
Micah had his FIRST train ride!
Matt's aunt and uncle had some extra tickets to this train ride they
were going on and they invited us!
Poor Micah was teething really bad
But this wasn't just any train ride..
This was a princess train!!
Ona and Elsa came and sang to us
Micah's first picture with a princess haha
He could care less, but I really wanted a picture.
I think this is also my fist picture with a princess (at least that I can remember)
They served us cupcakes and lemonade
Micah chugged the lemonade haha
nice photo bomb, dude in the hat ^^ haha
Micah's favorite was looking out the window
Especially when we could see animals
First train ride: Check!
The next first was no fun..
We went back up to Heber on Sunday afternoon for a big family
get together cause one of Matt's cousins is leaving on a mission..
It was super fun to be with everyone!
Micah was just running across the room and he tripped and fell down
I'm pretty sure he smacked his face on the sippy cup
he was holding and bit his lip.
Micah falls and hurts himself all the time, and I didn't really think anything of it
I just picked him up and snuggled him on my shoulder and started walking around..
After a while he still hadn't calmed down so I pulled him off my shoulder to
try and distract him with some food and to my surprise there was
blood EVERYWHERE!
All down my arm and all over his face and cloths.
I was shocked and didn't really know what to do.
Luckily there were lots of moms there who helped me try and clean
him up (but the bleeding wasn't going to stop any time soon)
and told me that I should probably take him to the hospital.
So we searched for the nearest hospital (thank goodness for smart phones)
and took off.. Worst car ride ever.
Micah wasn't the only one crying
We got to the ER and answered question and got into a room
all the while Micah was still screaming and bleeding
Once we were in a room the nurse came in and tried to get vital signs
but Micah wasn't having it.
Then the doctor came in and said he would need some stitches.
between people coming in Matt gave Micah a blessing.
Not too long after the blessing Micah finally calmed down and
started reading a book.
He kept saying apple! haha it was so cute
He kept saying apple! haha it was so cute
I'm so grateful for blessings!
I really couldn't handle all the sadness for much longer.
The anesthesiologist came in and told us about the shot they wanted to
give him that would relax him so that he wouldn't
be going crazy while they stitched him up.
Anything to do with medicine and my baby FREAKS me out and I really
didn't want it, but it was really the best way cause I don't think
we could have held him still enough for the stitches to be right..
Anyways this story is getting really long so I'll try and cut it short haha
The medicine worked great, but it was really freaky to watch
They got him all stitched up
I asked how many stitches (I mean you have to know how many right??)
and the doctor said aw man I never count! haha
They thought it was 5 or 6 on the outside and then 1 on the inside.
Poor Micah
We stayed in the hospital till the medicine wore off
Micah was confused and in pain as it wore off and it was sad.
(at least he didn't have a breathing tube this time.. I'm pretty sure that was
the worst part of the surgery he had last year)
We went back up to the family party afterwards and got some dinner
Micah wouldn't eat anything but chocolate cake haha
I was just happy he felt good enough for anything
Micah wanted to walk around and play with the other kids, but he was super
wobbly! haha he could barely walk around and I was scared he would fall down again
So we went home pretty fast and had a family sleep over on the couch haha
lots of tv, cuddles, painkiller, and soft food and we made it through the night.
Our next first was technically not on the weekend, but it was a much needed
relief to all the craziness on Sunday.
We got to go to the Payson Temple open house.
It's pretty much my new favorite temple
(but nothing beats Rexburg since we were married there..)
Micah just wanted to walk around haha
It was so cool to get to walk through the temple and see it all
The best part was watching Micah's reaction.
He could tell that it was a special place.. He was really calm (which hardly
ever happens for Micah) and he would wow, wow! the whole time
It was so cute.
I'm so grateful for Temples!!
I'm also grateful that things have calmed down a little bit
On top of all his lip troubles Micah has also been teething SO bad
So there hasn't been a lot of sleeping going on around here..
Hopefully we can get things back to normal soon!
So fun about the train ride!! Way cute! And so sorry about the teething and getting stitches! Poor Micah. I hope he feels back to his normal self in no time!
