Our Pretend Christmas Day

So since we were planning to be in Nevada for Christmas we decided to have our own
little Christmas before we left.

We left for the farm the Sunday before Christmas so on the Thursday night  before that we randomly decided to have Christmas the next morning!
We wanted to a pretend Christmas Eve too, but everything was just too crazy!

So anyways.. On Thursday night we went into santa mode :)
I was seriously having the best time getting everything ready.  The excitement and  anticipation of watching Micah was almost too much!

Our neighbors gave us that car at halloween because Micah loved it so much! It was one of the most exciting parts of Christmas, all thanks to sweet people!!

So usually when Micah wakes up we take him straight out to the couch,  but we really wanted him to be happy when he saw all the presents (he tends to be a little grumpy in the morning before he gets his breakfast haha)
So we got him some cereal and let him watch a movie on the ipad in our room hahaha

After he was full and a little bit happier we set him loose!

He walked down the hall with bear and blanky in tow because, obviously bear will not be left behind

And then came the moment we have been waiting for..
And this is the look we got. hahha
No exciting faces or crazy reactions for us, but thats the way
Micah is and I wouldn't change a thing haha

It was so funny he just stood there and stared at it all for a little..
and then just like we thought he would, he went straight for the car!

Theres the smiles we were waiting for :)

He was so happy sitting in his car and driving it!

Then he noticed the stockings haha

He had to jump out of his car to try out his golf club, but then he jumped right back in!

So we gave him a present to open in his car

A train is cool enough to get out of the car and play

And then he realized that there were even more presents!

He then continued to bring us presents and help us open all of them

It was a very calm and slow Christmas as we opened one gift at a time (always with Micah's help)
and then usually paused to play with that present for a while.

It was around here that the day took a plunge for me haha
I was feeling a little nauseous when I woke up, but you never know when your prego whats going on.. but after we had opened some presents I started to feel really sick..
You can see me dying on the couch in the corner haha

I was super sick for the rest of the day..
I still opened my presents, but I couldn't even begin to play with them
Even though I wanted to so bad!! Matt got me a bunch of studio photography gear!
So exciting.

So there went all of our plans for an awesome breakfast and a fancy dinner that night.
Oh well, I still loved laying on the couch and watching Micah
and Matt took such good care of me.

The best news is that Matt and Micah never the stomach bug I had!
Thank goodness, that could have really been sad.

Micah spent a good part of the rest of the day in his car.
He ate in there, gave rides to bear, and watched movies haha

Just because he's really cute ^^

Well once again things didn't exactly go as planned, but that's ok!!
Things rarely do :)

The next day I was feeling quite a bit better and we were able to do some fun things.

I made the breakfast I had wanted to make the day before..

We were going to have the roast that I had cooked the day before, but
then a friend brought over homemade tamales!!
So that was our dinner and it was way to good to take any pictures of haha

He had pie and hot cocoa has we sat by the fire, which was burning from the wood of last years Christmas tree :)

And then my favorite moment was listening to Matt read Luke 2.
Such a sweet spirit filled our home as he read and I
was reminded once more of the true meaning of Christmas and how much I
love our Savior.

Our Christmas Season

We had a lot of fun this Christmas Season.
Having a two year old made everything SO magical!
We had lots of plans of things to do, but it seems like most of the onesthat included leaving the house got cancelled haha
But I guess that's what happens when you have a pregnant mama and a two year old,
Sometimes things just don't happen! and thats ok :)

But we got to watch Christmas movies, make cookies,
look at lights, and have friends over.
And it was all so much fun!

Micah went through this face that when I pulled out the camera this is what he'd do haha ^^

Coloring in his Christmas jammies

I made him this felt tree to decorate.
He had a blast putting all the ornaments on the first time.
Once he had them all up he said, ALLL DONE!
and he pretty much never touched it again hahah

Baking cookies

Micah definitely has a love for baking cookies.
Doing it with him is messy and so much fun

I was really excited to do an advent calendar this year and here is what I learned.
It's hard to remember to do it! haha
Life gets crazy and we would always forget, I'm hoping next year Micah will remind us

But when we did do it, it was fun.

Micah got several Christmas books

opening a Christmas book ^^

One night we built a fire and had some treats

Micah got to make and decorate sugar cookies for the first time.
And he thoroughly enjoyed it!
And I took way too many pictures, of course :)

The sprinkles got a little out of hand ^^

I'm glad we got to do it with friends!

A picture of Micah looking at me AND smiling?? that's unheard of!

He kept asking for more cookies and more frosting till it turned into more of a cookie
soup hahah

Christmas is the best :)
