I love the start of a new year.
Even though really I should be making goals
and trying to be better all year long, there is just something about the new
year that is so exciting!
It's a fresh start
And I'm excited to make some goals.
So my goals aren't much different from any other year..
Seems like it always ends up being the same thing
that is mainly trying to eat better and exercise more and all of that kind of thing.
Cause it just wouldn't be a new year without health goals right?
The past two weeks (or maybe three) have been non stop junk food.
Renovating, moving, and the holidays all stacked together made for a
bad combo as far as eating goes..
But hey, it happens right?
We have had enough though,
time to get some real food!
So this year instead of just making a huge list of goals and attempting them all at once
I decided to go at it a little different.
I feel like I'm always just setting myself up for failure.
I decided to take it one week at a time.
I will be breaking up my goals into different weeks.
For instance this week my goal is to have a home cooked healthy meal
on the table each night for dinner.
And by doing that we are also eating healthy for lunch cause I make extra
and we eat left overs.
So I will mostly be focusing on that one goal this week.
At the beginning of each week I will start a new goal.
I'm hoping that if I just focus on one at a time maybe I won't get overwhelmed
and decide to give up.
And I want to continue practicing my previous goals in the new weeks.
Its worth a try right?
So far I have done good!
Yesterday we had spaghetti squash lasagna boats
It was SO good!
I have never tried spaghetti squash before, but I really liked it!
I think Micah enjoyed it the most though..
Man that kid just ate and ate
and then today we had it for lunch and he coudn't get enough!
Today we had "dirty rice" roasted carrots, and steamed broccoli.
Another win!
Also another hit with Micah.
I've noticed that he eats way better when I
make a home cooked meal.
So there is some more motivation for me :)
Micah and I also went on a walk cause it was surprisingly nice today!
And check out this awesome bike he got for Christmas from his grandma and grandpa!
It's so cool cause he isn't quite big enough to pedal, but I can push and steer from behind.
Genius!!
He is definitely a fan.
He just kept saying wo wo wow!! all throughout our walk.
Hope everyone is having a great day!
