I have some serious catching up to do.
Christmas Eve deserves a post all of it's own because it was just that great.
And so that is exactly what it will get :)
I'll just start by saying that soon after Matt graduated and we
started dreaming of buying a house,
it was our secret (or maybe not so secret) dream that we could get one by
Christmas time.
We thought it would be so cool to have a house that we could
host Christmas in.
But we thought that was an impossible dream really.
But then everything lined up and worked out and bam!
We had a house for Christmas.
So Matt's mom and sister came to us this year and we celebrated in our very own home.
Definitely a dream come true.
Growing up Christmas Eve was always a big deal.
We would have a super fancy dinner by candle light,
we would open up a home made present from mom,
and dad would read Luke 2.
I loved it and I wanted to try and make it special.
We had as fancy of a dinner as I could manage in my torn apart kitchen.
I wanted to eat by candle light, but the candles were in a box that hadn't been found haha
A nice folding table and chairs :)
This was my first time making a ham!
Really the crock pot did all the work, but still.. I was excited
By the time we got everything on the table and ready Micah was starving, poor guy
We ate and then migrated to the living room where
we watched some of the nativity videos the church has done.
Then there was my favorite part of the evening!
Matt lit a fire and we roasted marshmallows
SO fun!
I definitely think that will be a tradition.
I definitely think that will be a tradition.
Having Micah be old enough to enjoy Christmas this year was the best.
He made it so fun!!
He makes everything fun :)
but especially holidays.
We ended the evening with Luke 2
I'm so thankful for our Savior.
I know that he was born for us in the most humble
of circumstances.
Christmas is my favorite because of the wonderful
feelings that we have and I know its all because of him.
