Motivational Monday

~Motivation~
The reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way.
(thanks google)

Ok guys.. I have a for reals struggle with motivation.
I always get so excited about things and then I get lots done for like a couple of days (a week if I'm lucky) and then I'm
right back to wanting to do nothing all day.
The struggle is real!! haha

I've tried and failed at lots of different ways of
sticking with goals and staying motivated.
But at least I haven't given up right??

So that brings me to Motivational Mondays!
It's something I want to try and hope that it works at least for a while :)

I'm having fun with words right now.
Several synonyms of motivation are

Enthusiasm

Drive

Ambition

Initiative

Determination

Don't those words just make you want to go out and accomplish something??
It's amazing how words and pictures can have such a big affect on us.

So that's my goal.
Every Monday I want to:

find things that inspire me
write down goals
look back at the previous week
and keep track of progress

Health and fitness will be a big focus of Motivational Mondays
but I also want to stay motivated to keep a clean and organized home,
be a good mom and wife, keep up with meal plans,
and get lots of projects done on our home.

I'm excited!!
So I'm sure this will change as I go but hey I gotta start somewhere :)

So now that Motivational Mondays has been introduced, lets give it a shot!

Inspiration

Last week recap

Last week was pretty, well, I don't wanna say bad,
but.. yea. It was haha
I think I worked out once..
I didn't meal plan till like Wednesday..
And I had the hardest time keeping my house clean.
Maybe last week is why I want to do better this week haha

Goals

#1 Workout. I need a new work out strategy.
It's just hard with a baby especially when your baby is Micah
and he doesn't have a great schedule that I can work around..
getting him on a schedule needs to be a goal, moving and ear infections
have really thrown him off.

But most mornings Micah hangs out with Matt while
Matt gets ready for work.. So I'm gonna try and work out then.
I want to switch between riding out bike and pilattes every other day.

#2 Have dinner ready every night (my long standing goal)

#3 Cut waaayy back on sugar.
It's a problem.
A really sweet problem :)

#4 Make some healthy snacks that I can have available
for when me and Micah get hungry
during the day.

#5 Finish Micah's blanket that I started forever ago.

I'll start with those for now :)

Happy Monday!!

A few fun fact about my favorite little guy..

1
At his latest doctor visit we found out that
he is in the 1st percentile of height.
haha! he is just a short little guy!
I happen to love how short he is :)

2
He gives awesome high fives.
He gets so excited and slaps your had over
and over again.

3
He does laps while he eats his snacks.
Pretty much every time I give him some sort of
cracker or something he takes it and does laps
around the kitchen while he eats.

4
He has learned how to say no no.
I should probably be a little more concerned
as he runs around saying no no all the time..
but it's just so dang cute :)

5
He has finally started to wave!
Every day when Matt leaves for work
Micah walks up the the stairs and waves goodbye.

6
Micah is all about ready, set, go!
He used to just so "do!" but
now he has his own version of ready, set, go
and I managed to get a video!

One of my favorite things he does right now
is this little gesture..

Where did it go?
or what happened? is what
it usually means.

8
He gets dressed in a button up shirt with a
sweater over top basically
every day because I'm obsessed :)

Happy Thursday!

New week, new goal...

Welllll it was a new week a few days ago haha
I made my goal at the beginning of the week, I just didn't right it down till now.

But first off let me say that I nailed it last week!
I had a healthy dinner on the table every night during the week.
That's a pretty big deal for me.
I seriously struggle with making dinner.

So now this week my goal is to continue making dinner every night
and workout every day (or at least every week day)

I didn't start the week out too great..
I didn't work out on Monday, but I made up for it yesterday.
yesterdays workout was awesome.

Todays workout was tough cause I was so soar from yesterday haha

For some reason when I would lay down on my matt Micah would
pull my hair.. I think he wanted me to get off
So I ended with quite the hair do

Also most times when I lay down to do abs or whatever he comes
over and lays on top of me.
its real cute and I love it.
But it makes working out a little difficult

Definitely not complaining tho..
working out is wayy easier now then when we was really little.

Happy Wednesday!
Here's to making goals and trying really hard to keep them!

Micah's life lately

Micah's life deserves a little update.
He is so much fun
He does so many little funny things that I take pictures of
and i just need to share them!

So here it goes.. A super random post about Micah

So lately when he is hungry and we are in the car he holds his hand up like this.

haha i think its so cute.
I hand him something and then when he's done up goes the hand again

The other day I decided it was time to take a family selfie
and as we were taking pictures Micah fell asleep!

We are in the process of getting Micah's room together.
We started with trim and it looks so good!
Can't wait to put it on the rest of the house

Micah has decided that daddy will never have to eat alone again.
Every time he sees daddy sit down he demands to be on his lap
And then he helps himself to daddy's food.

We were in home depot the other day and
I was following Micah around cause he had had enough of the cart.
All of sudden he pauses, gets this silly little smile,
and then plops down and starts crawling!
What the heck? haha
He just wanted to crawl all over the store!
gross ha this is why I was so happy when he started walking..
no more putting his hands all over the floor.

Micah has this big bear that he LOVES
he seriously giggles every time he sees the bear
(which doesn't have a name by the way, maybe Micah will fix that someday)
He carries it around even though it's as big as he is.
Its so cute

It turns out the doctors office isn't so bad.
He was obsessed with this toy!

He probably would have stayed most of the day to play with it.

After the doctors was a little roughed and called for some couch time with his other bear
(he has like five bears and loves them all equally)

I'm loving that he will take pictures with me recently..

I think Micah's official first word is ball
(momma, dada, and wow don't really count right? haha)
We went to target and I said look at those big red balls!
As we walked into the store he quietly said, ball ball.
Then when we came out he saw them and said ball!

It was a big deal so I had to take a picture of course.

The other day I decided it would be fun to give him a bunch of rice to play with
(sensory play right?)
Well it didn't cross my mind that it would end up EVERYWHERE!
I was cleaning rice up for days haha
but he had fun

RC willey has the coolest little stroller cart things.

We had fun pushing him around in it

Micah got a late Christmas from my mom and dad and he loved it!

We love our Micah!

This has been such a gloomy, rainy day!
I love that its raining instead of snowing.. This super mild winter is fine by me!
But today has been dragging for sure!
Monday combined with no sun I guess haha
But theres only a little bit till the hubs gets home.. So I'll probably be alright :)

Sunday Best

There's something about a little guy in his Sunday best
that just gets me every time.

Micah's Nana (Matt's mom) got him this little suit jacket when he was about four months old.
It's about the cutest thing I've ever seen!

I have been waiting for it to fit for a long time!
It may be a little big still.. but close enough :)

So Micah's favorite thing in our yard is this little slope

He walks to the the top..

And then he stands at the top and I say ready, set, go!

And then he runs down

Well, it's more like a little bit faster walk haha
but it brings him so much joy and he loves to do it over and over.

It's pretty much the only place I can get a good picture of him..
So when you see this spot over and over again you'll know why :)

Hope everyone had a fabulous Sunday!

Christmas Eve

I have some serious catching up to do.
Christmas Eve deserves a post all of it's own because it was just that great.
And so that is exactly what it will get :)

I'll just start by saying that soon after Matt graduated and we
started dreaming of buying a house,
it was our secret (or maybe not so secret) dream that we could get one by
Christmas time.

We thought it would be so cool to have a house that we could
host Christmas in.
But we thought that was an impossible dream really.
But then everything lined up and worked out and bam!
We had a house for Christmas.

So Matt's mom and sister came to us this year and we celebrated in our very own home.
Definitely a dream come true.

Growing up Christmas Eve was always a big deal.
We would have a super fancy dinner by candle light,
we would open up a home made present from mom,
and dad would read Luke 2.

I loved it and I wanted to try and make it special.
We had as fancy of a dinner as I could manage in my torn apart kitchen.
I wanted to eat by candle light, but the candles were in a box that hadn't been found haha

A nice folding table and chairs :)

This was my first time making a ham!
Really the crock pot did all the work, but still.. I was excited

By the time we got everything on the table and ready Micah was starving, poor guy

We ate and then migrated to the living room where
we watched some of the nativity videos the church has done.

Then there was my favorite part of the evening!
Matt lit a fire and we roasted marshmallows

SO fun!
I definitely think that will be a tradition.

Having Micah be old enough to enjoy Christmas this year was the best.

He made it so fun!!
He makes everything fun :)
but especially holidays.

We ended the evening with Luke 2
I'm so thankful for our Savior.
I know that he was born for us in the most humble
of circumstances.
Christmas is my favorite because of the wonderful
feelings that we have and I know its all because of him.
