Micah and Mason

I just wanted to write a little bit about Micah and Mason's sweet little relationship.  :)

As I've mentioned before, Micah was pretty indifferent about having a baby brother for the first month or so.  He really didn't care much or notice Mason haha but slowly that started to change.  He decided that Mason was pretty cool and he would want to hold him every once and a while and he liked to talk to him and stuff

Now Micah LOVES Mason and he just love him more and more all time! Its so cute and it just melts my mama heart :)

Whenever Mason wakes up from a nap and starts crying Micah says, oh no! baby sad! and then he runs in and stands by Mason or crawls up by him and says things like, whats the problem? haha its cute

Micah loves to wrestle Mason.  He gets too rough all the time and I'm constantly reminding him to be soft, but Mason is so tough! For the most part he just puts up with it.  Unless they bonk heads. Mason hates having his head bonked.

When Micah sees Mason he says hi guys!! haha or he will say oh baby, thats a baby! he's cute haha

Micah figured out that he could drag Mason around in his rock n play so he brought him along to join in his favorite activity.. raiding the fridge haha

Micah always gets the best laughs out of Mason.  He knows what noises to make to get Mason to laugh and its so funny.

Mason LOVES Micah! He loves watching him.  Whatever Micah is doing Mason wants to be watching. You can just tell that Mason wishes he could be just like Micah, it's so cute.

Lately on car rides Micah entertains Mason and its awesome! They just love hanging out together back there.

I love watching their little relationship grow.  Its so sweet to see how much they love each other! They already have such a strong bond.

Mason's First 4th of July

I wanted to write a little about the 4th of July this year cause it was pretty great.  First off we got to have Matt's sister Sarah come stay with us a week or so before the 4th which was SO fun!

For the 4th we had a big Wilcox family reunion.  We all went and stayed in a huge cabin up in Park city.  There was lots of visiting, good food, games, and good times.  It was crazy having so many people in one cabin, but it was super fun.  We haven't got to see a lot of Matt's cousins in a while so we had a blast catching up.

Mason did great with all the craziness! It was really loud and busy all the time and he loved it! When Micah was that age he would get over stimulated super easy and he would just have a melt down.  He did not do well with noise and crowds, but Mason did great!

The view from the cabin was amazing

There were some games in the basement and of course Matt got a little creative with them

The cabin was way up in the mountains with nothing but trees around, it was so cool.

Me and sarah's Matching toes :)

We took family pictures and Sarah did makeup for almost everyone there haha

They had a few activities where everyone would leave the cabin and go somewhere, but we always ended up not going cause Mason would be sleeping or something haha

On the 4th of July there was a parade, but we ended up just hanging out at the cabin.  We chilled on the porch for a lot of that day.  It was so peaceful and pretty.

That night we headed out to go do some fireworks.  We had our own and we found a park to set them off at.  So we set off a few and it was all fine and good until one of them tipped over and hit me and Mason!  I was sitting on a camp chair next to Sarah and it went in between us and then went into my chair and blew up right behind my head.

I leaned forward and when it exploded I kinda threw Mason onto the grass.  I think it was half shock from getting exploded and half my instinct to get Mason out of there.  After the first one exploded right behind me, another one shot right by us.  At that point I grabbed Mason and started running!

Nothing else hit us and we were all fine.  My hair was scorched pretty bad though.  I thought for sure that I was going to have to cut it all off because it was one big matted melted mess of hair.  It was pretty nasty and it smelled awful haha  I wasn't worried about that though I was just sad that I threw my baby!  Really I kinda just tossed him on the soft grass, but still! I felt so bad.

He cried for a while from all the craziness, but once things calmed down he started smiling and being happy and I checked his eyes when we got back to the car and he was doing great.  I kept it together pretty good until we got back to the car.  Then I had a good cry haha it was scary!! But it could have been a lot worse.

Well we got back home and I was too tired to worry about my hair so I just went to bed.  The next day I decided to try brushing it out.  I brushed and brushed and a ton of hair fell out.  Then I washed it and it was almost back to normal. Its a good thing I have really thick hair! That was quite the way to end out weekend.

4 Month old Mason

Well I kinda skipped a few months with Mason updates..
My bad.. Also I took his four month pictures really late too.. Better late then never I always say.

I thought this would be the month that I would get it done on time.  But we had a big family reunion, then we partied with Sarah for another week, and then we got deathly ill the next week.  So this week we are finally starting to get it together again.

Mason turned four months on the 3rd of July so I thought a fireworks scene would be fitting :)

Mason is the best.  Even though he is not a super easy baby.. he is still the best.  He has a smile and a giggle that will melt you every time.

At his four month check up he was 14 lbs 13 oz Which means he only gained 13 oz last month which surprised me cause I felt like he gained a bunch more haha

He did pretty good with his shots this time.  I gave him some tylanol once that afternoon, but other then that he was pretty much just normal.

We are still going strong with breastfeeding! It was a struggle for a week or two though.  I think he was growing and he just didn't think he was getting enough to eat! He would just cry and cry once the milk was gone and I felt SO bad! But I just tried to do everything I could to up my supply and eventually (thanks to lactation cookies) I was able to catch up with him.  It was so wonderful to finally have him satisfied after a feeding instead of wanting more! Ever since then things have been going pretty good.
Mason is the worst at sleeping haha he got to where he would get up every two hours all night long.  Now he usually sleeps for like three hours (maybe four if I'm lucky) right at first and then is up every two hours after that.  I know he doesn't need to be nursing that often, but it always knocks him out so I give in cause I'm so tired! I was really hoping that he would just start sleeping longer on his own, but so far no luck there..

I think he is teething.  He is desperate to chew on anything and everything.  And he is always acting like he's in pain.  Just now I was trying to get him to fall asleep and he would not and just kept fussing so I gave him some teething tablets and he calmed down and went to sleep! Yay for starting the teething journey all over again haha

His hair has gotten a lot thinner and lighter lately.  He had really bad cradles cap that I had to scrub on a lot and I think a lot of his hair fell out when I did that.  He still has hair, but its light and thin.
I just went through and looked at a bunch of pictures of Micah as a baby and I have decided that they don't look alike hardly at all! At least not as babies.  They definitely both have their own unique look.

Mason is still a cat napper.  He takes little 30 minute naps.  I know he needs to sleep longer, but its like clockwork every time he wakes up at 30 minutes. Sometimes I am able to put him back to sleep, but most of the time he's just up.  So yea sleep is something we are struggling with.

Mason ADORES Micah.  If Micah is any where near by Mason is watching him super intently.  And if I try and get him to look at me I get nothing! All he wants to do is watch Micah.  I'm pretty sure he is just dying to be down there playing with him.  He just wants to be just like his older brother.

Micah loves Mason too.  All the time he will stop what he's doing and run over to Mason and say "hi guyssss!!" haha its so cute.  Micah love to have Mason sit in his bumbo so that he can bring him toys and do tricks for him and stuff.  Mason loves that too, but it can get a little crazy and I usually end up having to save Mason.  Micah always gets the best laughs out of Mason.  It's so cute to watch their little relationship.

Well Mason is waking up.  I'm glad I got this much written even though I probably left some out.  We love our Mason! I just can't get enough of him!! His little chubs and his fun little personality are the best and I just feel so blessed to be his mom.

Mason's Blessing

I have so much catching up to do with blogging.. It's just crazy, but I figured I'd start with Mason's blessing day.  Long before Mason was born Matt decided that it would be super fun to bless Mason out on the farm.   Obviously I was super excited about that idea!

We invited lots of people and got it all figured out and Matt's mom and dad and one of his cousins and her husband were able to come! It was so much fun having them come out.  Bringing people out to the farm is always way fun.  It's pretty different out there and we had a blast showing them around.

We did all of the highlights.. Swam in the hot pond, went on a fourwheeler ride to rock corral, took a tour of all the cellars, went off the bale swings, had a tootle party, Ate lots of delicious food my mom made, had an awesome FHE lesson from my dad, and had a combined birthday party for all the May and June birthdays.

Mason's first ride! He rode in the car, but it still counts

Reading scriptures

On Sunday we went to church and blessed Mason.  He cried the whole time, but it was still such a sweet experience.  There were lots of awesome talks given, and Matt and I got to bear our testimonies.  I love going to church on the farm.

After church we had a potluck, and then we took a bunch of family pictures.  It was such a great weekend!! I can't wait to go back again.  Oh it was over memorial day weekend that we did all this.
