Great Basin National Park and the Farm

This past weekend we got to go camp at Great Basin National Park
I have never been to where we camped at and it was so cool!

We met my brother and his family there.
They found the coolest campsite that was in between two streams!

We even had our own personal bridge which the kids loved

by the way I forgot my real camera.. (I don't know how that happened
It's usually the one thing I make sure I have!) So I hope you
enjoy a bunch of phone pictures haha

We got there Thursday evening so all we really had time
for was setting up camp.
That night we visited around the fire
which is the best.

The next day we went on a hike that took us to 2 lakes

I know what your thinking.. Is that really in Nevada?? Yep, Nevada is beautiful :)

We made it to the first lake and within minutes the kids had their
pants and shoes off and they were in the water

This was the second lake.
We had a picnic here on the grass and it was perfect

cute cousins :)

The next morning part of the group hiked up to the summit of
Wheeler, which is the tallest peak in Nevada.
They left at like 4:30 that morning and they didn't really
want to pack kids on that hike so I stayed behind and packed up our stuff

As soon a they got back we headed for the farm.

We didn't get to stay at the farm very long,
but it was SO good to see my parents.
I just love going home and I miss it already

Micah and his cousin Brenden are only a month apart and
they are basically twins..
I was trying to get a picture of them together and while
Micah wouldn't even look at me
Brenny turned around and said Cheese! and gave me the best smile!
How do I trane Micah to do that?? haha

Such a great weekend!
Let's do it again soon :)

4th of July Weekend

Yes, I realize the 4th was quite a while ago..
but hey better late then never right?

So Matt was able to take a few days off of work
(thanks to having to work over memorial day weekend)
So we got to have an extended 4th of July!

We decided to make a vacation out of it!
First we went to Bear Lake.

I'm pretty sure I have never been, and if I have I don't remember it
but we LOVED it! So fun!
The lake was huge and it was pretty warm

We played on the beach for the rest of the afternoon

Matt and Micah dug in the sand and found tadpoles
They were both in heaven

After a while we decided some dinner was in order.
We had hear that there was really yummy pizza at bear lake so
we had to try.  Plus we had heard so many good things
about the raspberry shakes, so we had to try those too.

And let me tell you, they did not disappoint!

Micah's first mini carousel ride^^ we didn't even turn
it on, but he sure loved it!

We took our pizza back to the tent and watched the sun set while we ate

The sun set that night was unreal!

Micah loved sleeping in the tent that night and he woke up so happy!

We packed up camp that morning and headed for
Grand Teton National Park

This would be me straightening my hair in the car
gotta do what you gotta do while camping..

Once we got to the Tetons we found a place to camp
and then headed to the beach.

This time it was a very rocky beach which was
Micah's dream come true.
All the rocks he could ever want to throw into the water

And he threw and threw to his hearts content

Such a beautiful place!!

We spent a lot of time taking pictures
because I mean... how could we not?

Micah is such a good sport haha

The next day we went on a hike
Micah even got to hike a little ways

We also went out to Mormon's row which was really cool

This was our 3rd day of camping and we were exhausted
There is no relaxing while camping with a Micah because he
is constantly trying to do something dangerous
so we were constantly chasing him.

So later that day we went into jackson hole and went to a park

Later we ended up watching a movie so that we could sit down for a while haha

The next day (which was the 4th) we headed to Rexburg
We got to hang out with family and watch the
fireworks in Idaho Falls

The fireworks really terrified Micah, but it was a super fun day.

Definitely a 4th of July to remember!
