So we have some good news! Matt got an internship!! And its an awesome one! He will be working for the church on sites like family search :) We will be living in Orem UT. We am SO excited!!
So here is the story...
Matt had an interview with another company a couple of weeks ago. It was a really great company and he was really excited to interview with them and hopefully get an internship.
We both felt good about it and felt like he should interview, but when he did he realized that this particular company wanted him for coding and not for design (he is a web design major by the way) So that was a little discouraging because he really wanted an internship that would focus on design. So he had his interview and then when he came home for lunch he told me about an email he got saying that the church was interviewing for interns that day. There was a place to sign up, but it was super confusing and he couldn't find it, so instead he just went to where they were interviewing and did his homework there.
So he talked to them in person and got an interview right there. The guy who interviewed him was really impressed, but he wanted to see Matt's portfolio so he asked him to send it and then he would get back to us about he internship.
So Matt has a lot of really great work for his portfolio, but he needed to organize it and get it all online and stuff like that, so he asked if it would be ok if it took a couple of weeks for him to send it, and the guy said that would be fine. So Matt had every intention of fixing up his portfolio and sending it, but he has been so busy with school that he still hadn't had time to send it. So a couple of days ago they called him and offered him the internship anyways! We were super surprised and WAY happy! He had looked at quite a few internships and this one was our favorite so he was super excited to accept!
But there was one problem.. and that was me.. haha basically to make a long story short, things were not working out with when I am supposed to have the baby. It would either be have the baby in Utah and then immediately move back for school, or have the baby here and then immediately move down for the intern. And there is no saying exactly when I'll have the baby so we weren't sure if matt would have to start school or the intern before the baby came.. So it was all a little confusing and stressful. But we realized that if they would let us start at the end of July then we could move down there about a month before the baby is born and be there for a couple months after.. Which sounded like a much better option to us.
So Matt called and asked if that was possible and they said they would get back to us.. So we waited, and waited, and waited... We were freakin out.. haha but then they emailed Matt and approved the start date of July 29th! yay!!
Its amazing to watch everything work out so perfectly. I know that the Lord is watching out for us. We have been SO blessed I can't even describe how blessed and thankful we are!
I'm not gonna lie tho.. I am pretty scared about switching doctors and having the baby in a new place. So if anyone knows of any awesome doctors in the orem/provo area please let me know!! Even tho its a little scary I know that everything will work out, and I'm SO glad that I wont have to have a baby and move all in the same week.. I dunno if I could handle that..
So basically I am SO proud of Matt!! He is awesome! he has gotten so many offers for different internships (by the way later that day, the first company I told you about called and wanted him to do a second interview haha) In all the time that I've known Matt he has never struggle with getting jobs, in fact his problem is that he gets too many offers and he doesn't have time for them all. Needless to say, I love that about him and I am super grateful because this is a scary world! but I know he will always find a way to provide for us :)
Soooo that was a lot of writing with no pictures.. so here's some!
I was so happy and excited that I made Matt a surprise celebration dinner! (kind of a big deal for me since I usually am too sick in the evenings to make dinner)
It was awesome I felt so great that day! And then later that night we found out that Matt can graduate in TWO semesters instead of three!! aahhh! theres an end in sight! I'm so excited about all of our new adventures that are soon to come!
